Ph.D. students: If you are interested in “real world” challenges, come aboard. All researchers in the group are expected to have a good background in numerical methods and programming. We work with hands on equipment bringing context to problems. Most projects are being performed with a national laboratory or industry partner.
American Nuclear Society Nuclear Patch for Girl Scout (May 2021) is being organized with the help of Neutron Sensing Lab. Girl Scouts “Ambassadors” are welcome to join! We will spend a half-day learning about the basics of nuclear, seeing how detectors work, making our own mockup energy systems, and finally speaking with some nuclear professionals!

Chair, American Nuclear Society (ANS) Local Sections Committee (LSC), 2019-2021: Dr. Prasad serves as the Chair of the ANS LSC which helps organize local sections stay connected with nuclear awareness and outreach activities at the grass root level. She has undertaken a number of reforms in this capacity, including helping in the revitalization efforts of various local sections, such as Arizona and Northern California.
Nuclear Professional Engineers (PE) Committee, American Nuclear Society: Dr. Prasad is an active member of the PE-ANS committee which helps professionals obtain the NCEES PE license. This summer she will help with exam review activities.
